DTEK Group has a large and well-developed geographically dispersed IT infrastructure that supports a large number of different services. This is due to the presence of numerous locations, some of which do not have direct access to the Internet, making it impossible to exclusively configure services in the cloud. In order to maintain the existing level of service in the face of the planned growth in the number of company users (the current number is approximately 18,000) and to optimize the use of resources using the latest technologies, a hybrid Active Directory configuration was developed and implemented. The solution is designed for efficient centralized management of user accounts.
In general, during the implementation of the solution, the company managed to
- Establish centralized resource management. AD allows you to centrally manage local resources, simplifying administrative tasks and reducing costs.
- Improve security. By controlling user access, AD helps protect sensitive data and resources from unauthorized access.
- Plan for flexibility and scalability. AD can handle millions of objects in a single domain, making it suitable for businesses of all sizes.
- Customize integration. Active Directory supports integration with on-premises and cloud-based systems and applications, which provides flexibility to your IT infrastructure and helps it grow efficiently.
- Improve policy-based administration. Group Policy helps automate software deployment and enforce consistent policies across the organization.
The centralized resource management provided by Active Directory is critical to ensuring efficiency and security in today's business environment. The use of these technologies not only optimizes workflows, but also guarantees a high level of data protection, allowing companies to stay one step ahead of the curve in responding to ever-changing IT security requirements. Integrating Active Directory into the IT infrastructure has enabled a new level of governance and security, which is key to maintaining business resilience and trust.
