Implementing a Microsoft 365 data backup and recovery solution: DTEK Group's experience

DTEK Group faced the risk of losing Microsoft 365 data due to accidental deletion, malware, Azure failures, and the lack of data security guarantees from the provider. This threatened the loss of important information, which would have negatively affected the company's operations and reputation.

MODUS X team implemented Druva SaaS solution for Microsoft 365 data backup and recovery for DTEK Group. The solution is deployed on AWS where the data is stored in a specialized S3 storage, which offers availability, scalability and security of your data. Druva provides incremental backups, protection of backups from modification/deletion, the ability to restore data at any time (Point in Time) and RPO (last backup time) up to 24 hours.

The implementation of the Druva solution for DTEK Group is aimed at:

• Data protection: effective protection of Microsoft 365 user data, including critical data on SharePoint Online and Teams.
• Data recovery: the ability to restore data to a previous state for any period up to 1 year, providing flexible post-incident management.
• Backup protection: Ensure that backups are not altered or deleted by unauthorized users.
• Data storage: Offsite data storage outside of Azure to increase security and reduce dependency on a single provider.
• Data availability: The ability to quickly access and download files from backups at the file level, supporting rapid response to recovery needs

Results:

By implementing Druva's Microsoft 365 data backup solution, DTEK Group has significantly improved the reliability of critical corporate data protection. The project ensured effective management of data loss risks due to failures or deletion and increased the flexibility to restore data to a state at any time up to one year.

The implementation of Druva as a SaaS backup solution in the Microsoft 365 infrastructure proved to be important for ensuring business continuity and strengthening its resilience in an unpredictable environment.
